I want to buy some 1/87 truck models from Fankit (Faun Gigant etc) in kit version and i wonder if anyone here has experience with this manufacturer (quality and detailing of the models, times of shipping etc)

I would rate the quality of the Fankit models as good. They are not perfect because these are all hand made products which you can't compare with the industrial standards of Herpa or so. Meaning some of them are not straightly assembled. Therefore I prefer to pick the best items directly from the manufacture for example during the Mini-Bauma in Sinsheim. So I have no experience with their shipping. But Adrian was always reliable and the detailing of the models is quite good – as you can see on their photos in the web shop. And finally, since you are looking tor kits, you can eliminate the mentioned “malposition” by your own assembling. |

Thank you Pinoy for the reply and the tips, i think the same for the quality as i see from the web photos. Any way i will make the order since i cannot find anywhere else the particular rare models (especially Faun).

I bought a ready assembled model of the Titan 3 axle Tractor. It has a lot of good details (for example the fire extinguishers) and I think the quality is very good for a hand-made model.

Thank you Tobse for your useful reply. I have already done the order and i am waiting with impatience the delivery time. By the way congrats for your great models (Mercedes SK is one of my favorites) they inspired me a lot

Today my order from Fankit (kit version) arrive, the quality is good no missing parts as i see (no list with parts of the kit), packaging very good. Of course no manual for assembly but i have been informed for this situation. So here is a small preview for anyone interested...

Hello,
where did you get the kit-version?
I ask them in person for 1/87 Kits and there answer was: only ready made models, no kits.
What is the price for the kits?

I send an email to Fankit Models saying i am interested in the specific models as kit and they reply that usually they do not send them in kit version but they make an exception for me (maybe the number of the models was the reason). The price is 65% of the ready models price

it will be difficult to assemble them but i think the result will be nice. I have in mind some small modifications, for example the MACK dumper will be coverted to prime mover like this
Hope to have more free time to start building. I will update with fotos when they will be ready.

Tobse such a good modeller as you will not have a problem but for me it will be a challenge but anyway the ready models will not give the joy of assembling and modification
