Got the hard lines install on most of the boom pieces. So I started priming the sections. A lot of work goes into the lines a lot of small pieces

Ok got some professional advice from a friend about my undercarriage being small. So I went to designing a larger undercarriage. This one is wider longer and is more heavy duty to handle the stress from the demo duties.

I designed rollers that will actually work, just need to fit them

Not the best pics hard to get pics of the white with cam phone

Ok been casting track pads what seems like forever now just about 130 of them. Each track takes 63 of them, each track had to be demolded , cut off the spurs and pouring gates, hand drill the hinges and then pinned together. I am sick of seeing tracks for a while.......but man does it look good

An those of you who have the big demolition excavator the HItachi EX1000 well this is what it looks like next to the R300D.
Th Fully extended

Making the 1000 feel even smaller

Closer look at the 2

Both booms layed down

New tracks a lot taller then the 1280 tracks

I will get a pic with the short boom set up in a bit, hope you are enjoying the build

Ok I have redone the cab set up and added a lifting arm to make cab access easier. I have also painted all of the boom and started on the body.

Here is a excavator I have designed and complety built. It is based off of the Kobelco 2500 and some custom design features I have added

I have added more LED lights to the machine aswell. 2 forward on cab, 1 rear on the cab. 1 forward driver light on right side of the house and 1 light on the boom which is moveable.

You can see the electronics fit nicely into the house which I designed to fit a 9v battery, switch and wiring nicely and out of site. The switch is the rear deck plate on the panel. I made it so you just need to press down on the plate to turn on and off. Nice little feature to hide the swtch out of site. The panel is also held in place by a magnet, you just pull on the railing on the front to the panel to take off the cover.

I also have the long boom painted just need to fix a section to keep the boom from bending to the left.

Only thing left to do is get some tinted plexi for the cab windows and make a lot of hoses for the booms
What do you guys think of this

Excellent work, Jason
I followed your thread on DHS since you began there, and I'm really impressed of how the model turned out at the end!
I also like your idea with the nicely hidden switch for the LEDs! Hope to see more of your demolition beast soon... -- Copyright liegt bei mir!
