Hello Everyone,

I am planning to build a "depot diorama" for my fleet of heavy haulage vehicles, which i have just started to collect.

The "full size" depot (which mine will be based on) is 300feet by 250feet.

Now i know the 1/87 scale conversion factor is 3.5mm = 1 foot, but i cannot work out how to scale down the "full size" measurement.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi Reuben,

300feet in 1/1 equals 3.44feet in 1/87 (or 1051mm)

250feet in 1/1 equals 2.87feet in 1/87 (or 876mm)

(1foot equals 304.8mm)

Hello Everyone,

I have just brought a "mercedes sk 2 axle' tractor unit (herpa model).

It comes with 2 mirror arms, 1 has a rectangular mirror on it, the other has a square mirror and a rectangular mirror, which side of the cab do they fit onto?

I want to paint the "rear light" clusters, there are 3 lights in each cluster, so what colour order would they be?

Unable to provide pictures at the moment, as i do not have a camera.

Where abouts in the UK are you, i live near Exeter in Devon.

Hi Reuben,

when you are from the UK, you probably need your MB SK as a right-hand-drive vehicle? Then Herpa's mirrors won't fit for that truck.

If you like to build a left-hand-drive truck, elder trucks like the SK have two mirrors at the right side and one mirror at the drivers side. Newer trucks like the Actros have two mirrors at both sides.
