Hi Friends,

I am building a Liebherr R9150 mining excavator from sheet styrene in 1:32 scale, 100% scratch-built by hand with no resin casting or CNC cutting. The main updates to the build can be found at the DHS Forum and I have selected some pictures to share here.

I am really struggling to find reference pictures and technical information of this machine so if anybody can help I'd really appreciate it!

no cnc cutting - just look at the track pads, one the same as another..
:P

seriously: very nice work, I'm a quite patient modeler, but all those bolts would drive me nuts. no glue visible, all white and clean, is that already primer painted?

@Lenni, no paint yet, all just white plastic. I am careful not to take photos of the glue spills hehe

Thanks very much torquemaster

1) I chose 1:32 because I can achieve a higher level of detail (eg the tracks and the bucket). I originally wanted 1:50 but decided it was too small for my needs.

2) I used the official Liebherr R9150 brochure for reference drawings/pictures and made my own technical drawings of the bucket

Just a little progress from the past two days showing the detail that can be achieved at 1:32 - the walkways. Video coming soon!

The video is amazing like the whole machine!!

I want to build me such a xhd-bucket for my remote controlled R984C, that's why I asked !
I think I have to draw something for myself too before it can be built …
