Attached you'll find some pictures of spanish trucks which I saw during the 80-ies and 90-ies. For several reasons I find them very interesting, but unfortunately these trucks could have been seen very, very rarely in Germany.

Perhaps somebody of our spanish friends has got some more pictures of Dodge & Pegaso. If yes, please do post these right here

regards, hendrik

Hello Hendrik,

when you mean trucks... do you mean any kind of trucks or only trucks for heavy and specialist transport? I ask you that because I have some pictures of old trucks and one pic of a 4x4 Pegaso of the fire brigade, but I do not know if this is the right place to put these images.

Let me know...

Thanks!

Hola Jorge,

In this case I mean any truck, not only heavy haulage. The spanish trucks are very unique and seldom, and I'm sure that many people like to see pictures of trucks that nearly haven't been operated out of Spain.

Also fire-fighting vehicles are definately welcome (as you can see by looking into our Forum "Einsatzfahrzeuge"!). But I'ld suggest that you post these pictures here in the "international" forum :-)

I personally would be very much interested in the old 4 axle 8x2 trucks which in my eyes have been the typical spanish freight trucks of the 70-ies and 80-ies. These trucks have been pretty unique in many aspects; just one of these aspects is, for example, the steering system. Once I have more time I'll explain it a little bit more detailed. But also the selection of the diesel engines was interesting, as well as the suspension.

As you may know over here in Germany the 4-axle lorry was not permitted by law until 1983 or 1984; that's why we unfortunately don't have "old" 4 axle trucks....apart from some prototypes, and - of course - heavy haulage trucks which were allowed to homologate under exemption rules.

regards, hendrik

Hello Hendrik,

nice pics the one you posted above. As I told you at this time I do not have pics of 8x2 trucks and it is possible that I do not have the chance to take them... but if anytime I see one of these trucks I will take some shots.

Here I put the following pics of Spanish made-trucks:

EBRO P-175: one of the heaviest trucks made by Motor Iberica (EBRO brand name). It was fitted with Perkins engines made under licence by Motor Iberica.

IPV trucks: Mafsa-IPV is a small manufacturer of all-terrain trucks, mainly 4x4, but also there is a 6x6 model for military purposes.

LUNA crane on PEGASO truck: this units is owned by a amusement-ride company. Spot the "hole" con the cab-roof in order to host the boom of the crane. Crane capacity is not more than 15tons.

PEGASO 4X4 owned by Gijón city council fire brigade. This truck is widely used by the Spanish army in 4x4 and 6x6 layout. When Iveco took over Pegaso in 1990, this model remained in the Iveco product-palette until nowadays. It is offered with Iveco engines for military purposes and there are several body-options. One of the options is a 6ton LUNA recue crane.

Hello. I´m Gonzalo, and I love the trucks. I have bought one of the Pegaso trucks,1083, year 1976, that my father years ago took. I put a photo to you and I invite to see my web of Spanish trucks and all class of marks that circulated around Spain.
You have a very interesting forum.
