TEREX Demag builds largest maneuverable Crawler Crane -
First machine already sold to Al Jaber Heavy Lift & Transport LLC
TEREX Demag further expands the product range of its CC-Cranes: The new
CC 8800 TWIN is the largest crawler crane within the 3.000 tonne class, with a lifting capacity of 3.200 tonnes and a gigantic load moment of 40,500 tm. The innovation: The booms are freely mounted onto the crawler carrier in order to achieve full on-site mobility. The CC 8800 TWIN is maneuverable while carrying load and is therefore a true mobile crane.
Twin Boom System Increases the CC 8800’s Lifting Capacity.
The new crawler crane is based on the successful CC 8800 model (1250 tonnes lifting capacity), of which 11 machines have already been sold. TEREX Demag achieves the sensational increase to more than 3.200 tonnes through its unique Twin Boom System design. The CC 8800’s boom components are being interconnected by the system to form a twin boom.
First CC 8800 TWIN Sold to United Arab Emirates
Al Jaber Heavy Lift & Transport LLC in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) has already closed a deal, even before the official market launch. Al Jaber Heavy Lift & Transport LLC is a subsidiary of the Al Jaber Group of companies (approx. 25.000 employees). The subsidiary specializes in heavy crane and transport operations primarily in oil, gas and petrochemical sectors. The CC 8800 TWIN, to be delivered in 2007, will be utilized in the construction of large scale projects, especially erection of vessels, reactors and P.A.Us.
As of today, Al Jaber Heavy Lift & Transport LLC already operates a complete fleet of Demag lattice boom cranes ranging from 250 to 1250 tonnes and has recently added an AC 160-1, an AC 250-1 and an AC-500-2 to its fleet of some 250 mobile cranes. The purchase of the CC 8800 twin also enables Al Jaber Heavy Lift & Transport LLC to operate two numbers CC8800-1, 1600 tonne capacity crawlers.
CC 8800 TWIN – More Highlights
The powerful Quadro drive with its dirt-resistant drive train geometry provides optimum traction force. Short setup times are achieved by the proven, hydraulically adjustable telescoping system for the counterweight carrier and tray. For highest road transport mobility the transport width is less than 3,5meters, individual components weigh less than 40t. The unique, modular hook block design allows for assembly of options ranging from 350 to 1250 tonne for each block. Safe operation is ensured by a sophisticated camera-system. An onboard AC power generation, e.g. for floodlights or air-condition provides the required independence on site.
