Hello,

I’m a french truck modeler; I live in the center of France and I’m apologize for don’t speaking german !

I created this topic because I need some help for my next model. This model will be an oilfield truck, not a big TITAN Z but a lighter truck, just a MERCEDES BENZ 3250 AS 6x6 with the first generation of the SK cab!

I started this model with the ITALERI MERCEDES Wrecker for the base and I saw later that fuel tank and air tanks are not included in the kit. I must scratchbuild them as other parts but it's not a real problem.

1) I’m looking for a photo of an ITAG catalog. I have this catalog on my computer but with a low definition, in pdf format also it’s difficult for me to see details on the photos (rear views enclosed). I will be very happy if some on the forum can scan for me the page 2 of this catalog and send it me by Email ? Thank you.

2) I’m looking for documentations, photos drawing about MERCEDES BENZ trucks built in the end of the eighties by NAW in Switzerland with the first generation of the SK cab (3250, 3850, 4050 and 4850) and especially if used on oilfield operations. To make the models I’m looking for détails about the ZF torque converter WSK400, the ZF gear/transfert box (5S160 !?!), air filters and radiator behind the cab and the V10 engine OM423LA. Thank you.

I started my model by the rear spring and I modified it and added ten spring blades on each side. Now I asked me if I mould this parts for a next model…how I never mould resin parts. I will used KFS MPT tyres for this model. Now I must lengthen the frame but at a bad location, just behind the cab where the frame change of size and direction!

Thank you very much for your help and happy truck modeling!!!

Sincerely.

Olivier

I forgotten to give you the scale of my model ! 1/24 of course.
I started with the rear spring but now I don't know what I do ! Make a master or no to mold resin part ? I never mold resin part!
I think the wheelbase of the rear axle must be more longer than the ITALERI model also if I have resin part I can envisage to make a long wheelbase.
An other problem are the tyres. The 3250 used big 24R20.5 offroad tyre but me from KFS I just find resin tyre with a 55mm diameter (smaller I think).
