Hi Tomh, tubes are made of different materials, depending on the diameter. The small ones are copper wires (ø=0.25mm), while the 0.4mm ones are from a Model Factory Hiro set: http://www.hlj.com/product/MFHP901 I found these pipes in a model shop and I bought them, but in my previous model I used steel wire and another interesting solution: if you unravel a texile elastic band like the ones used in pants , you'll find some elastic white rubber threads of various diameter (depending on the elastic band), that are excellent to make tubes. Let's have a look at this model: http://freeweb.supereva.com/bino/liebherr_a922.htm?p Please forgive me if it's not very nice, as it's the first 1/87 I made and I used Kibri sticks, but the white hydraulic tubes you can see in the pre-painting pictures are made of the elastic threads I was talking about.
The truck in the background is a resin 1/35 truck. It's an american WW2 Corbitt 666. Sorry, nothing more! |
