Hi Tomh,
tubes are made of different materials, depending on the diameter.
The small ones are copper wires (ø=0.25mm), while the 0.4mm ones are from a Model Factory Hiro set: http://www.hlj.com/product/MFHP901
I found these pipes in a model shop and I bought them, but in my previous model I used steel wire and another interesting solution: if you unravel a texile elastic band like the ones used in pants  , you'll find some elastic white rubber threads of various diameter (depending on the elastic band), that are excellent to make tubes.

Please forgive me if it's not very nice, as it's the first 1/87 I made and I used Kibri sticks, but the white hydraulic tubes you can see in the pre-painting pictures are made of the elastic threads I was talking about.
The truck in the background is a resin 1/35 truck. It's an american WW2 Corbitt 666. Sorry, nothing more!  |
