Hello everybody!

I have decided to start collect 1:50 die-cast models. I have bought two that should arrive this week. In the mean time I went up to our attic to find my JOAL models from when I was a kid. I found them after a while, and I must say I was surprised. There was one model I didnt remember I had at all... the Åkerman EC650!

Here is a list of the models:

- Volvo BM L70 with tools
- Volvo BM EL70
- Åkerman EC200 backhoe
- Åkerman EC650 shovel
- Scat Track 1300C (1:32)

Pics:

OVERWIEW:

VOLVO BM EL70 (1:50)

VOLVO BM L70 (1:50)

ÅKERMAN EC200 (1:50)

ÅKERMAN EC650 (1:50)

Gonna try to fix this:

The bucket of the skidsteer loader fits on the L70 and EL70, same with the tools of the Volvos on the skidteer loader:

Hello!

I got two new models afew days ago. Both are from JOAL and 1:50.

- Volvo L330C
- Komatsu PC1100LC-6 (backhoe)

Both models next to eachother:

The L330:

The L70 is one of the most common wheel loader sizes (atleast here in Sweden) and it is often seen inside the cities. Here it is next to the L330C, Volvos largest wheel loader. At the moment...

The Komatsu:

I would say that the EC200 is a "normal" sized excavator. It is of a size that is mostly used when excavating in cities. Here it is next to the PC1100..

The PC1100LC is very nice model, I've got one myself.
From your older models, some could use a drop of glue here and there.

i know that problem. As a kid i got (besides many matchbox-size cars and a few Siku-Trucks) two Joal Models: A Caterpillar grader and a Volvo High Reach Loader (for logs). Both are in a much worse condition than your models, and you could say they are scrap by now

compared to them your models are in a quite good condition

Thanks for your comment Robert! And I think you are right, they could be in worse shape than they are. The exhaust pipe must be the first thing that breaks when you give a model to a child.

Next models I will get is some Cat models. Cant wait untill then!

Of course, the 797 is visibly larger than the 793, but not as much as I had initally expected. But judge for yourself:

(Unfortunately only in comparison with a 793C, since I don't own the D series version.)

I doubt there is much diffrence between the 793C and 793D. (And the 797 and 797B for that matter.) I like the Cat dumptrucks. So I dont mind having them all! haha

I think I will get the 996 backhoe first. Then the 797B. Since I have the 973D Im not in need of a larger truck at the moment.

Man this hobby is as addicting as the spider hobby. Once you have started you cant get enough!!

In fact, the 797 and the 797B is the very same model: Made by the same company and with the same moulds, only fitted with different decals.
But the 793C and 793D are made by different companies: NZG and Norscot respectively. This could result in slight differences. (Just think of the infamous CAT 320C L model by Norscot, which is anything but 1/50 in scale.)
But admittedly, I doubt that there is a deviation - the 793D is one of Norscot's "Collector's Edition" models, isn't it?

Hmm I see. There is a company here in Sweden selling a 797B.. thats why Im thinking of getting that truck.

the cat 320C model you mentioned is it an old model or is it in production?

Yes the 793D is a "Collector's Edition" with the 994F. Although I wouldt mind some more detail in the 793. The JOAL Komatsu HD605 is very high detail. The Norscot 777 and 793 isnt very detaild IMO. And the 793 is a "Collectors edition" so you would think it would be more detaild.

Since it is listed in the Norscot online catalogue, I'd say it's still in production.

Hmm - judging by your pictures, I would presume the Komatsu as rather "plain".
I concur with you on the 777, but if you think the 793D has not enough details, you might reconsider buying a 797.
(I hope to be able to bring some pictures of my 797 online the next week...)

Well yes if you look at the exterior the JOAL model is very plain. But the suspention on the HD605 is much better than the 793D. Also the HD605 has an "engine".. the 793D is a Flintstone dumptruck. hehe

Yes please I would love seeing more pics from you. The 797 vs 793C pic is SUPER!

Yes, it is.
And you're absolutely right, I used the possibility of showing additional pictures of a given model rather sparsely at first - but I tried to catch up in the last six month or so. There are still some models missing, but I plan to add pictures here step by step in the future.

Hello agian!

I got my CAT 345B MH Series II material handler yesterday! I took some pics of it.

One thing I was Really surprised to see was the magnet wasnt a real magnet. Both NZG and JOAL has real magnets in their material handlers. Im thinking of making the magnet into a real magnet.

Anyway here are the pics:

Hi again.

There was a guy in the town I live selling a Euclid R85B dumptruck on an auction site so I thought "why not". I picked it up yesterday. Here are some pics of it:

Pretty OK size for an excavator in the 100ton class:

Three trucks of about the same size next to each other:

I also decided to photo the rest of my collection.

My dumptruck fleet:

My excavator fleet:

My wheelloader fleet:

My dozer/crader fleet:

My "Other" fleet. Machines that didnt fit into the other groups.
